In May 2020, a coalition of home furnishings manufacturers, importers, retailers and delivery services joined forces as the Alliance4Safety to promote industry best practices in response to COVID-19. Later, after Congress passed the STURDY Act in December 2022, this same coalition of industry representatives collaborated with parent groups and child safety advocates to help educate consumers about important home safety issues, including furniture stability, which was the focus of the STURDY Act.
Now, the Alliance4Safety has expanded to provide insights and educational resources to help Americans maintain safer, healthier homes. In addition to these consumer tools, A4S assists and supports its industry partners in their efforts to design, produce and market products for safe and healthy homes.
