The purpose of AHFA’s transportation and global logistics programs is to equip transportation, logistics and distribution managers to contribute to the financial success of their companies.

An annual Global Supply Chain Conference keeps transportation and logistics professionals on the cutting edge of developments in the domestic and international handling and delivery of home furnishings products. Program topics include packaging innovations, import/export compliance issues, transportation contracting, information technology and supply chain management.

Transportation and Logistics executives have served as consultants in the development of key transportation-related services, including the fleet fuel card program introduced in 2004 and now used by more than 40 furniture companies and specialized furniture carriers.

Additional resources for transportation and global logistics executives include a guide to international wood packaging requirements, a video explaining the Rule 181 package performance test for cartoned furniture, and a link to a directory of specialized furniture carriers.
