OCTOBER 2005 UPDATE

Here’s the latest news from AHFA Supplier members!

Globe Express Services has expanded both its U.S. and Far East operations. In July a regional sales and operations center relocated from Reynoldsburg to Gahanna, Ohio, near Columbus. The new facility offers more than twice the workspace and has easy access to Port Columbus International Airport. Waleed Moujaes is the district manager for the center, located at 750H Cross Pointe Road, Gahanna, OH, 43230. (waleed.moujaes@globeexpress.com). In the Northeast, Peter Charleman, an ocean shipping industry veteran, has been named Regional Sales Manager. Charleman has overseas strategic management experience in Hong Kong, China and Korea and will help Globe Express grow its Northeast corridor business, with special emphasis on the rapidly expanding apparel, furniture and electrical goods import segments. Globe's Northeast office is located on Staten Island (866/456-2342). Globe also has opened a new corporate location in Port Klang, Malaysia, and a new sales office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, bringing the company's number of Far East locations to 13, including seven offices in China. According to Vietnam's Ministry of Trade, furniture industry exports totaled $128 million in August, boosting the country's export value for 2005 to $966 million, an increase of 47.3 percent over the same period last year. By year-end, the sector is expected to reach $1.5 billion in export turnover, with wood furniture the leading commodity. www.globeexpress.com

MGM Transport has introduced a new online tracking feature called MGM E-Track. Designed by MGM Technology Services, E-Track allows businesses to receive daily emails on the status of shipments transported by MGM. This information helps companies stay on top of priority shipments and provides more timely status information to their customers. While this information is still available through a secure MGM website or by calling Customer Care directly, E-Track proactively emails the updates to the customer. The E-Track update is part of the latest Version 5 MGM Online Tracking System. www.mgmtransport.com
