Suppliers Aim to Boost
Tournament Participation

Since 2000, AHFA’s Suppliers Division Scholarship Fund has helped 22 students enter or continue their education at colleges and universities all across America.

By boosting participation in the annual Scholarship Golf Tournment this year, especially through new sponsorship opportunities, the division intends to swell the scholarship coffer and increase the number of scholarships awarded.

AHFA’s Suppliers Division will hold its 15th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament June 7 at Rock Barn Golf Course in Conover, N.C. Currently, the event generates funding for six $2,000 scholarships that are presented each year to the children of AHFA-member company employees. The awards go to students age 21 or under who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a two- or four-year college, university or approved vocational/technical school. Children of employees at both AHFA manufacturer and supplier division companies are eligible to apply.

Tee-off time for the shotgun/scramble (captain’s choice) tournament is 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be available prior to tee-off, refreshments are available during play, and a cocktail reception and awards ceremony conclude the event.

Cost is $500 for each foursome, or $125 per player. The deadline for team sign-up is May 31.

The 15th Annual Suppliers Division Scholarship Golf Tournament will be played at the beautiful Rock Barn Golf Course in Conover, N.C.

Special recognition is planned for companies signing on as tournament sponsors this year. A $2,500 “Platinum” sponsorship includes eight players in the tournament (two teams); a $1,500 “Gold” sponsorship includes four players in the tournament; a $1,000 “Silver” sponsorship includes two players in the tournament; and a $500 “Bronze” sponsorship includes one player in the tournament. Sponsors at all four levels also receive recognition as a “hole sponsor” and their company names will be listed on a sponsorship banner.

In addition, all sponsoring companies will be acknowledged in Furniture Executive, as well as in the online newsletter, Suppliers on Demand.
