AHFA’s resources for manufacturing executives include a multi-disciplinary Manufacturing Summit held twice each year. Program topics address product design and testing, manufacturing technologies and practices, sustainability, regulatory updates, and labor force management and recruitment.
Plant tours of facilities within the residential furniture industry as well as tours of facilities serving other industries provide a window to manufacturing processes and concepts.
Programming also is offered in partnership with the Franklin Furniture Institute, a center of study and research involving Mississippi State’s colleges of Business, Forest Resources, Engineering and Architecture. The Institute’s research and technical assistance is focused on supporting the furniture industry in the state and region, helping to ensure a quality workforce and educating future managers and leaders for the industry.
Additional resources include guidance on labeling, inventory management and tagging.
