Membership in the Suppliers Division of the AHFA is available to persons, firms and corporations that supply products or services to the home furnishings industry. These include manufacturers of equipment and machinery; suppliers of component parts, materials and supplies; various consulting services; financial institutions and services; information technology products, services and support; employee benefits providers; legal services; marketing and public relations services; packaging, transportation and warehousing products, services and support; both domestic and international logistics; and waste disposal and environmental services.
Government agencies are not eligible for membership.
What are the benefits of Suppliers Division membership?
- Networking opportunities. Consistently rated the most valuable benefit of membership, networking opportunities are made possible through numerous educational events scheduled throughout the year. Because these events are organized around specific professional and technical areas within the manufacturing company, supplier members can choose events that most directly meet their networking needs. Supplier members also are invited to attend the Association’s premier event of the year, the Annual Meeting, attended by top executives from member companies. Finally, the Annual Suppliers Division Scholarship Golf Tournament provides a fun and productive means of interacting with member company executives.
- Valuable marketing support. Members can announce new products and services, as well as company news, in the online newsletter Suppliers on Demand. Created exclusively for Suppliers Division members, this newsletter is directed to several levels of key personnel within AHFA's manufacturer member companies. Supplier members also receive a company listing on the AHFA website and in the print Membership Directory. Public relations support is offered to companies exhibiting at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta. Members are invited to use the AHFA Suppliers Division logo in advertising and promotions.
- Money-saving discounts. For companies that exhibit products or services at the International Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Supply Fair in Atlanta, membership in AHFA’s Suppliers Division brings up to a 20% savings on space rental. Suppliers Division members also can participate in AHFA’s discount shipping program with Federal Express and its fleet fuel card program.
- Resources. Suppliers Division members receive a free copy of AHFA's Annual Membership Directory each January and have access to the online membership directory, which is updated continually throughout the year. All members receive the monthly Furniture Executive newsletter, which keeps executives up-to-date on AHFA events, Washington activities, PR initiatives and discount programs.
What is the cost of membership?
Membership dues are computed on a sliding scale for companies offering products and services to furniture manufacturers. The scale is based on your company’s annual sales volume. As an example, annual dues for a company with sales less than $1.5 million are $750. Dues for a company with sales from $1.5 to $3 million are $1,000; $3 to $10 million, $2,000; and over $10 million, $3,000.
Membership dues for companies supplying legal, consulting or financial services to furniture manufacturers are $750 regardless of volume.
