Webcast for Children's Furniture Makers
Need help understanding CPSIA’s requirement for training related to undue influence on third party labs? If you manufacture children’s furniture, CPSIA required you to have a “reasonable testing program” in place by February 13 this year. Part of the requirements for that program include training to prevent “undue influence” on the testing labs. AHFA received multiple inquiries about the meaning of “undue influence” and offers this webcast to help member companies.

Toxic Crusaders
At least 26 states have introduced or plan to introduce bills to address the use of chemicals in consumer products – and many of them specifically target flame retardant chemicals used in foam for upholstered furniture. New Glass Standard
A new ASTM International standard was published last month for glass-top desks and tables. Developed by ASTM’s Furniture Safety Committee, which is chaired by AHFA’s Bill Perdue, the standard covers all glass used as a horizontal surface. The standard is available for purchase from ASTM at
