CONGRESSIONAL FURNISHINGS CAUCUS A bipartisan group of House lawmakers established the Congressional Furnishings Caucus in 2004 to develop policies aimed at promoting the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers. Caucus members primarily represent furniture-producing regions of the country.
AHFA supports the Caucus as a forum for pursuing commonsense regulation, pro-growth tax policies, and smaller, less intrusive government.
Through the Caucus, AHFA continues to educate lawmakers and their staffs about the high structural costs associated with domestic production, as well as other challenges facing U.S. manufacturers.
The 35-member Caucus has supported several AHFA-backed proposals to boost competitiveness, including legislation to lower corporate tax rates and to increase government procurement opportunities for furniture manufacturers. AHFA is working to recruit additional members from both political parties.
